In one week, Weldstar lost 101 years of combined employee service.
2019 saw Weldstar careers come to a close for 3 long-term employees: Dan Castello, Steve Riva and Mark Deiner.
Dan started with Weldstar in 1981. He worked at our University Park location in various capacities ending up as that Customer Service Manager with duties that including purchasing. Dan is one of the Chicago Cubs biggest fans and will probably be attending a few more games. He will also be grandkid-sitter part-time.
Steve was hired as Weldstar’s Controller in 1987 and fulfilled the obligation of that job and the additional duties of human resources until his retirement on December 31. Steve will be enjoying the sunshine and warm temperatures of Florida – many on the golf course.
Mark has worked at our Logansport, Indiana location since 1991. He was involved in many functions of the operation from filling cylinders, warehouse work and customer service. He just finished his Weldstar career with 8 years as a delivery driver.
The entire Weldstar family is sad not to see these faces every day, but wish them the very best for a well earned retirement.
