CDL B (With Hazmat) Delivery Driver

Position Summary:
The CDL B Delivery Driver with HazMat endorsement will report to the Danville Branch Operations Supervisor and be responsible for loading, unloading, moving, storage and delivery by commercial motor vehicle to customers in a safe, timely, accurate, and courteous manner. You will work effectively and professionally in a team environment with minimum supervision and maintain a positive working relationship with customers and employees, providing great customer service.
Essential Functions:
- Load, unload and deliver gas and liquid cylinders and hard good supplies to commercial customers through the use of a company vehicle.
- Achieve delivery objectives set forth by the manager in environmental conditions ranging from below freezing to over 100 degrees
- Comply with CGMP, Hazmat, OSHA, DOT and other regulatory agencies and practice general safe driving guidelines.
- Complete and submit reports and ensure appropriate preparation, completion, and accuracy of paperwork required by the DOT and/or Weldstar.
- Perform pre & post trip inspections to identify any maintenance action that may be required and act appropriately if action is needed.
- Report all accidents, possible injuries, safety issues, driving citations, and customer complaints to include service interruptions immediately to their supervisor.
- Providing additional support through communications, documentation; and answering simple team member and customer questions.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Weldstar Company operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm with 30-minute unpaid lunch. Start and end times may vary depending on location and customer needs. Some work on Holidays may be necessary pending customer needs.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 – 100 pounds on a regular basis and push/pull items up to 1000 lbs. with proper assistance.
- Position requires prolonged sitting, occasional bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting/turning, stairs/ladder, crawling and climbing
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Capable of working in diverse and often unpleasant weather conditions (extreme cold and heat conditions).
- Good knowledge of the regulatory requirements supporting both the facilities operation and manufacturing, distribution environments
- Able to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
- Maintain an accurate and valid medical certification card.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess a Class B CDL and a valid US DOT Medical Examiner’s certificate
- Successful completion of DOT pre-employment drug-screen and physical and company specific physical demands assessment.
- Clean driving record 5+ years.
- Must have a HazMat Endorsement
- A minimum of 6 months of experience driving or proof of completion of a driving school
- Prior experience in a warehouse distribution setting preferred
Work Environment:
- Subject to noise; there is sufficient noise to cause the need to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
- Subject to hazards; includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles.
- This position operates outdoors about 80% and indoors about 20% of the time.

The disclosed pay range is based on a consideration of neutral factors and criteria such as required qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certification, seniority and more.
Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.75 an hour
