Job Overview
The CWI Consultant provides welding expertise, inspection support, and technical guidance to customers. This position works closely with customers, sales representatives, vendors, and internal teams to help identify welding issues, improve processes, and support welding quality and compliance.
Duties
- Provide welding inspection and technical consulting services to customers.
- Assist customers with welding procedures, applications, processes, and troubleshooting.
- Perform visual weld inspections and evaluate weld quality as required.
- Review welding procedures, specifications, drawings, and related documentation.
- Help customers identify and resolve welding quality and production issues.
- Provide technical support and recommendations for welding equipment, consumables, and processes.
- Work closely with Weldstar sales representatives to support customer needs and technical opportunities.
- Conduct customer visits, demonstrations, training, and technical presentations as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of current welding standards, codes, processes, and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports related to inspections and consulting activities.
- Promote safe welding practices and a strong commitment to quality.
Skills & Qualifications
- Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, procedures, inspection methods, and industry standards.
- Previous welding inspection, fabrication, manufacturing, or related industry experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers and employees.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer locations as needed.
